I'm beginning a new phase in my artistic life, and am very excited to stretch out from the traditional venue of illustration into the realm of reinvention using old, used, tossed items or pieces of items.
Due to the economic situation we're in right now, I've heard many voices of doom and gloom, despair and fear. In the midst of it, while searching my own life to see what's ahead for me as an artist, I've been impressed with the idea of Use Whatcha Got, meaning..take from what you have in your home and around you that seems to be junk, clutter, or unnoticed, and use it in creating new items. Recycle with a view to create funky, whimsical fun images and articles.
I plan to have recycled clothes, collage style art, and jewelry from collected pieces.

- I'm a children's illustrator-author. I studied commercial art and illustration at The Butera School of Art in Boston MA. I've been a freelance illustrator for 15 years, creating hundreds of pen and ink renderings for bed & breakfast and inn owners nationally. I am a member of SCBWI, taking part in the Mid-Atlantic region, which is a privilege. I'm also a member of The D.C. Illustrator's Club. I recently moved to Tallahassee, Florida with my husband, three kids, and one sweet, energetic dog.
